The City is purchasing the Florence Golf & Country Club. Looking at their purchase agreement, on page #2 under Procedures for Inspection, it states that the Sellers identities shall be kept confidential until closing. Why can't the citizens know who is selling the FG&CC??

Also why isn't a appraiser being required to do an appraisal on the property? Surely it's not really worth the tax appraisal of $2,030,400.00? It's next to a dump! It not even viable as a profitable golf course.

What is Mayor Irons not telling us about this deal?

If the club is worth 1 mil. it comes to around 167K an acre. These guys have been paying tax on that and not objecting as far as we know. So I'd say asking price is not the issue.

We know the names of two owners. Anybody out there know the names of the other 98? Wonder if its equal partnership or if some own larger %?

I actually think the city thinks it will help Blackberry for this to happen. Remember, for years they made a big deal of McFarland apologizing every time it flooded, but when Blackberry was built they couldn't say enough bad about McFarland that they had lobbied so much for 20 years before.

Hold 'em to the fire.
Isn't Bill Batson one of the owners? If so is this the same Bill Batson that is Florence City Engineer? Would this be a conflict of interest? Could the Mayor and/or other city officials have a financial interest in this sale? Has any citizen of Florence filed for an injunction to stop this sale, and asked the Attorney General to investigate?
As an outsider looking in, these are some of the questions I would want answered if I lived in Florence!
