Why do we have these tax free holidays?? hmmmm... is it to lighten the financial strain on folks as they buy school supplies for their kids?? So if they were gonna spend 50 bucks(plus 9% tax = $54.50) Now they may drop 65 bucks tax free right?? This stimulates the economy because stores sell more and most likely will have to hire extra help during this time right??
Yet we hear that cutting taxes is NOT the answer to our economic problems in this country from King Barry, and Pelosi and all there idiotic minions.... NOOOO... They tell us every day with every passing "stimulus" bill that we are too stupid so they are gonna take our money and spend it how they, in all their glory, sees fit.... But only on the rich right?? Unless you are a smoker and make under 250,000 a year... you got your taxes raised didnt you?? lol ... Or if you are someone who pays a power bill, because when King Barry gets an energy bill passed your power bill will, IN HIS WORDS, "skyrocket".
Here is my idea. I would love to see this experiment. Completely cut ALL gov't spending except for military, and "necessary" spending outside of that...(no Barry, your czars are not necessary...sidewalk projects are not necessary...little league baseball fields in Puerto Rico are not necessary) After freezing the spending, cut ALL federal income tax to 10% accross the board. At the end of that 6 months I guarantee that the "temporary" tag would be removed and this country would see economic growth above and beyond any we have ever seen.
We see a small snapshot of what spenders will do with tax breaks with this "tax free holiday".... Give us a permant break from useless taxes and spending and see what we do then.

It's funny i never heard anybody complain about all the vacations George Bush took. I'm sure the tax payer's paid for all of his !!!!!!!!

16,000,000 people weren't unemployed. We weren't in a major recession. Like one blogger suggested she looks like Marie Antoinette. How many teachers jobs could have been saved by not taking this trip? Think of the children.

i wasn't here when Bush was in office - yes, i would had issues with him too. but if i remember right, most of bushes time outs were in this country, in places already owned by the government or by bush hisself. mostly.
if she had paied for her own trip, minus the free flight, i'd have no problem with it. if she was on government business, i'd have no problem with paying for her whole trip.

oddly.. she doesn't work for the gubment, and not entitled to anything unless she gets it form playing tagalong with her husband.

Except for the fact that the Obamas are independently wealthy. So you know

The Obama's will pay for their hotel bill and pay the government the price of three first class tickets for Michelle and her daughters. Otherwise, taxpayers pick up the rest.
"Michelle and her daughters" While I am furious about the trip's expense, I believe that the older daughter did not go. She must be furious too! BTW, I have been to Spain three times, spent less than an 8K total and did everything Michelle did except visit the king! I think that this really was neat. The White House needs a contract with Globus and Cosmos!
The real elephant in this room is this however...Did anyone not notice the increased business seen by the local establishments? the number of people out shopping and buying goods? Anyone who thinks that increasing taxes on businesses and on goods stimulates the economy is obviously out of touch with reality. This is a perfect example of how a little discount, due to not having to pay the tax, can stimulate business and growth. Too bad the government cannot learn from these little experiments.
