Tennessee is 13th on our comfort scale with starting salaries of $34,098 and average salaries of $47,563. This state is famous for being the hotbed of country music.  So, if you've got a thing for Kenney Chesney and friends, this is a great place for you to teach and get your master's in education.

There are certain areas teachers can study that will increase their salary and demand.  IT, for example.

I gave two sources for the figures, one is the starting figure, and one the AVERAGE salary, and watch, jt will STILL insist they don't make that much.

The source is the NEA.  Surely, JT wouldn't believe a union would lie.

I did look it up for the county I live in. Step 1 teachers get $33,915 per year, step 21 (PHD plus 45 years) get $57,723 (not many of those) If you find the average it  will be less than 47 thousand per year.

More proof that lefties and math are not naturally compatible.  Its the average for the state, not one county.  Tennessee includes several large cities, where the salaries are probably larger.

JT, instead of bothering about Alabama, haven't you problems closer to home to attend to.  What have you done to clean up Memphis?

Call the NEA and argue with them, and tell them you are a product of their public schools, and they can see then why I say the teachers are overpaid.

Every school that I've been to was in Alabama.

So what jt? My gosh man, I said call the NEA. You, big old union man didn't know that?? Dude, you're living proof we need testing for teachers!!

The National Education Association (NEA) is the largest labor union in the United States.[2] It represents public school teachers and other support personnel, faculty and staffers at colleges and universities, retired educators, and college students preparing to become teachers. The NEA has just under 3 million members and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.[1] The NEA had a budget of more than $341 million for the 2012–2013 fiscal year.[3] Lily Eskelsen García is the NEA's current president.[4]

In my youth, I worked with the Scouts. Mornings, a woodpecker would start his racket looking for a meal.  He always stopped at a cabin with a tin roof and hammered away at the metal roof.  Sometimes, JT reminds me of that bird.  Critter never could figure out he couldn't peck thru metal, plus there weren't any bugs there anyway.

Reminds me of a sitcom episode, the woman took her daughter in with stomach cramps, the doctor told her the girl was pregnant and in labor. Daughter, "I ain't pregnant momma", doctor, "she's fully dilated", daughter, "I ain't pregnant momma". Doctor, "she's crowning"! Daughter, "I ain't pregnant momma". Doctor, "its a big healthy boy". Daughter, "It ain't mine momma".

As funny as that is, it's so true too.

Sorta like posting to some of you. Can't get through and if I did, there wouldn't be anything in there.

Please jt,  like your constant postings that basically say, "nuh-huh" or "did too" are really hard to understand. It doesn't get any worse than when you argue with the freaking people paying/making the money! You absolutely said the NEA was wrong on their OWN site!

If you would read and get a dictionary to help you comprehend the words with 4 or more letters, you would not post such statements.

LOL! Please!! What words do I not understand? Again, "nuh-huh" and "did too" are pretty simple, and seem to be all you can come up with. What "big words" do you claim give me trouble? It won't fly jt, you are in no position to even attempt to question anyone's intelligence or vocabulary. You jt, are not smarter than a fifth grader. Let's go way back, you are the weakest link.

jtdavis posted:

Judging from your answers, quiet a few

Do you know what "quiet" means? How about "quite"? Ok, if it's so many words I don't understand, btw understand is the correct word to use, not comprehend. Anyway, if there are so many, pick a few and list them, and show where, or how, I misused or misunderstood their meanings. Once again jt opens mouth and inserts foot.

Jt, where do you get the idea your posts make any sense?

I'm asking you. I have no problem understanding her, you're the one that never makes any sense, and never answers a question.

maybe, just maybe, if you would read all the posts, you would understand the content better. Best posted teacher salaries, I posted that the ones I know do not make that much money. Then Best and Dire made several posts in a manner so as to make me look bad and both of them wanted me to worry about Memphis and clean it up. (are you up to speed yet) You then chimed in with a me too Ms Best and Mr Dire. That's about all you can grasp this quickly.

I read the posts and as Best stated you wanted to argue with the NEA. Best didn't make up the info, she just posted it, and it's the same info on all the sites. I also agree with Best that it's you that makes yourself look bad by arguing when the info is right there, and posting the weird off the wall stuff you post. They tell you to clean up your own state before butting in on Alabama's business. Again, I agree that is what you need to do. As said, I have no problem understanding her, but I have no idea what's wrong with you that causes you to post the things you post!

Jt, all you have to do is contact the NEA and argue with them. Maybe they will be in such awe of your communication skills and your grasp of the English language, so grand in fact that old beternnun never has to get after you, that they will be more than glad to change the facts and alter their websites just to suit you! Now wouldn't that be "quiet" (sic) a feat for you to pull off?  Then again, they might ask the same question my accountant asked when I told him about all the free stuff you claimed we got as a business, "is the man mentally challenged"? Oh, and go ahead and look up the meaning of the word sarcasm.

No jt, they don't make less than average. And telling the lie over and over still won't make it true.

Really jt? Really? Think about your post. I know you're confused, but go ahead, THINK. Call a friend, ask a fifth grader. Call the NEA.

Best, those are your last two posts. If $47,563 is "average", are you saying that no one makes more than that and no one makes less than that?

Jack, when you've got no facts, resort to slurs.

Well Jt, that explains why you only post slurs, and sorry to say, lies. You never have facts and you will argue with the facts when presented to you.

==========================

I'm not "saying" anything. The NEA site shows the pay scale for teachers in each state, they're saying it. You are arguing with them through me. Again, call and argue with them. Would your union let you take less? You claim not, is that a lie? I suspect that you aren't telling us the whole story or the entire truth about the so called teachers that you claim make less.

The chart, which you posted, shows Tennessee teachers STARTING pay is $34,098. The next column, which I assume is the average pay for experienced teachers, lists AVERAGE pay of $47,563. If it is average, does part of them make more and part of them make less? Are you stating ALL teachers statewide make $47,563? I'm using the things you posted.

You're using the NEA information I copied and pasted. Since you are too dumb to understand starting pay and average pay I have to say again, call the NEA, tell them you are just to freaking ignorant to understand their chart, and that is has you all befuddled, and tell them you are a product of their public education and that Bestworking said you are living proof they aren't worth starting pay or any raises that comes there after.

Best, I understand starting and average. You are the one who said "all Tennessee teachers make $47,563 with no exceptions. You need to call them and ask for something that you can comprehend. I assume you are the product of some form of education. Were your teachers low paid?

I've read this thread, Best never said all Tennessee teachers make
$47,563 with no exceptions. All teachers are overpaid anyway,
why do you think America ranks 92nd in global education..??

JT has made so many mistakes, plus he finds himself arguing with union statistics.  Its almost amusing.  Not that teachers are overpaid, its the curriculum and some of those in the profession that's the problem.

I would have thought that an Atlanta bookkeeper would have a better grasp of what  "average salary"  means.

You've proven you have no idea of what you speak, how to interpret data, nor, despite protestations to the opposite, any respect for the AEA, as a union.

Who's saying that? YOU are saying it. You are either lying, or being lied to, or as you usually do, are leaving out all of the story.

Best, you're the one who said "all Tennessee teachers make $47,563". I'm the one who said if $47563 is average, about half makes more and about half makes less. You are the one who resorts to using stupid, ignorant, lying and other slur words.
