A wild-ass rumor circulating about the cost of the President's trip to Asia has been given undeserved prominence as the babbling echoes of this false report have been wantonly spread by the non-journalists Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, as well as by the quintessential blithering airhead, Congresswoman Michelle Bachman. These reckless ninnies were quick to seize on a rumor of dubious origin (said to have been spawned by some as-yet un-named source in India)that was nonsensical on its face and, without doing any fact-checking whatsoever, they gleefully reported it as a true and accurate account of the cost and equipage involved in the President's trip.

The reported cost was some $200,000,000 per day and was said to involve 34 warships of the U.S. Navy and hundreds of hotel rooms at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck and Bachman inveighed powerfully against this alleged extravagance, but none of them bothered to do what good reporters (which none of these three are) or responsible elected officials (which Ms. Bachman is not) should always do. They failed to verify any of this information before reporting it to the millions of gullible sheeple who dote on their every right-wing word as though it were the product of Divine inspiration.

Now the Pentagon has officially and thoroughly de-bunked this crazy, baseless rumor as "wildly" out of line with the actual costs. Information on the cost of Presidential trips, like much other information concerning those trips, is classified for national security reasons. This un-news from Hell was simply made up somewhere by some unknown someone and jumped on eagerly and gobbled up and spat out as truth by right-wing ideologues who want to believe and propagate anything that defames the President.

Hey, Christian conservatives out there: Does your Bible say what mine does about "all liars"? Check it out:

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and *****mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Now, about that birth certificate......

Maam, does your Bible say the same thing mine does about thou shall not kill? If so, how can you support a thing for President who "would not want his daughter punished with a baby."?

Good for O'Reilly, then. But the irresponsibility of the Axis of Idiocy, in accepting the silly story without any verification and then propagating it to an audience of millions, has spread a BIG LIE all over the land and SHAME ON THEIR SORRY HIDES!!

By the way, my initial post acknowledged the likely source of this silly rumor ("said to have been spawned by some as-yet un-named source in India"). Whatever its source, it had all the earmarks of a bogus story, but that did not stop the truth-trashers from recklessly propagating it. There is no excuse for such actions. These people are corrupt and you should be ashamed NOT to conmdemn their actions!!
No rational adult could have thought the $200million number was factual, just as the idea that Death Panels were part of federal legislation, but such hyperbole does play well to a certain segment of the electorate. Despite their shortcomings, they are able to find their way to the polling places, so such disinformation will continue.

Heehee. Silly rabbit, everybody knows that the true axis of Evil Is Obama, Pelosio, and Harry Turd Reid.
if you people think either party is our savior, your wrong. until we quit bickering about who is what. the election is over. the republicans won. so congratulations. now lets hear what they have planned to help AMERICA out. thats all that matters, everyone doe not think alike and thats everyones right. I learned one thing in vietnam. there is no race, no republicans or democrats. we are all AMERICANS. quit bickering and just get along.

Well, we have learned what ONE highly-influential Republican wants to do as his overarching, foremost, primary, overweeningly important project over the next two years. I refer to the silly-assed statement from Mitch McConnell, specifically and verbatim: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Never mind jobs and the economy and the war in Afghanistan. Mitch McConnell elevates his partisan political objective, placing a Republican in the White House, above all these.

McConnell is an unpatriotic, obstructionist flab-faced clown who needs to step aside and let some senator who sincerely cares about the country take over the job of Majority Leader.
Was anyone really surprised to hear the announcement by Mitch McConnell that he was only trying to block a second term by President Obama? What I find far more interesting is the in fighting that has already begun inside the Republican party. The party of NO and HELL NO has became the party of I DON'T KNOW when asked for real solutions to the crisis that are facing the country. The old mantra of no new taxes isn't going to go very far when the middle income earners files taxes for 2010 and realizes they DID get a tax decrease.
