Has anyone here followed the History Channel's mini-series, "The Bible"? If you have,. and if you know anything much about the Bible, you will have noted that the TV version takes considerable liberties with the Book.
For example, can anyone explain why Samson is portrayed by a black actor with dreadlocks?
Samson was an Isrtaelite, the son of Manoah, of the tribe of Dan (Judges 13:2).
That is one of the major misrepresentations. There are plenty of others, some not so significant, but nevertheless puzzling. Just one example: The Bible says that Abraham, instead of sacrificing his son, Isaac, sacrifices a ram that God provided. The ram was caught in a thicket by its horns, according to the Bible Genesis 22:13). In the TV version, there is no ram, only a little lamb and its foot is caught in some part of a small tree or tree root. Why change details like that?
