I am an impartial college football fan first of all. But I would just like to say that I am glad this coach search is over. After looking at that picture of some rabid Bama fan attacking Saban with kisses, I have now seen it all. If I was Saban's wife and I was by his side there would have been quite a catfight. I am amazed that people are already treating Saban like a savior. He has yet to coach a game or beat cross-state rival Auburn. I think it is safe to say that more people in this state would recognize Saban than their own senator or representative in a lineup.

Saban has some good college and SEC credentials, but what was Miami's record this year? I'm not going to say he's a good coach or a bad one just yet. He has 4 things to do before I'll give him a thumbs up.

Have a winning record

Beat UT

Beat Auburn

Win a bowl game

Do those four without making dumb calls that result in player injuries and I'll be happy with Saban.

I think Saban will do well for Alabama, IF MAL MOORE will leave him alone and LET HIM COACH, ... that was the main problem with Shula, Moore wouldn't let him do what he wanted to do... same thing is going to happen, UNLESS Saban has the guts to tell Moore to back off and let him be the coach....if he does that, he will be my new hero!!
