Referring to Pelosi as a 'worthless witch' sounds like a snide remark to me. She's a 70-year-old grandma. Where's the outrage? You right-wingers said our remarks on the other thread about Palin's family were out of line. What's the difference?

And, prince albert, aren't you a Church of Christer? Oh, nevermind, makes sense.

Reps can do no wrong. "They're on a mission from God."
I disagree with the choice of making Rep. Pelosi minority leader. I personally think she has a lot of nerve to even seek the office. The Democrats should have had enough backbone to say NO, NANCY, IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Afterall, that's what the voters said.

However, I think it's inappropriate to refer to her as "worthless witch." I think the TD poll question, "Do you hate Nancy Pelosi?" is totally stupid. FOXNews (on the right) and MSNBC (on the left) are fueling way too much fear and anger among Americans. It's downright scary if you ask me.

I hear that a lot. I myself am an atheist, but tell me, are all Democrats atheists? Forget all, do ANY of them claim to be atheists? If not, what's special about a democratic "christian"? What is their mission? Apparently Pelosi thought she could do no wrong, and had a "mission" even though all she did was opposed by the MAJORITY of the citizens.
Speaking of being on a "mission from god", do you remember this little tidbit juan?

House Speaker Pelosi has urged the Catholic Church to speak up about the need for immigration reform that includes amnesty for the 12 million illegal immigrants living in America. Speaking at a conference recently, she revealed that she often tells Catholic priests and bishops, “I want you to speak about it from the pulpit. Some (who) oppose immigration reform are sitting in those pews, and you have to tell them that this is a manifestation of our living the Gospels.”

I agree with you on all of that. Although I'd never want to go as far as Senator Rockefeller and see Fox News or MSNBC eliminated, they - along with some of the others on talk radio - are largely responsible for the polarization of America, IMO.

As for making Pelosi minority leader, I think her fundraising capability was an important consideration on that matter.
I was making a silly social commentary by invoking the "Blues Brothers".

I dont think political affiliation and religious inclination have much correlation. Pelosis accomplishment may have been opposed by the majority of voters, but the Dems mistake was in the resultant bill they produced, not that there is not a need for real reform of the health care and health insurance sectors.

Pelosi is in the Congress, I did not see Palin's kids up for any position.

What did you call Bush?

I (talking about just Buttercup) made comments about Palin's parenting skills, not the kids.

Here's what I said:

quote:
On a serious note, one has to wonder if family is really that important to her, considering she's still got three young children to take care of - including a demanding Downs child. There's absolutely no possibility to give her children, especially the Downs baby, the attention they need and juggle the demands of POTUS.

But, then again, her lack of attention to her kids is how Bristol got knocked up right under her nose. She obviously just uses her kids for political gain. Sad.

Your response:

quote:
You have gone off the deep end butter. Snide remarks for the woman and her family is uncalled for.

Now, where did I put down her kids? Bristol did get pregnant as a teen, didn't she? So, my comments about Palin's parenting skills are 'snide remarks' but calling Pelosi a 'worthless witch' is not a snide comment?

Sorry, but I'm going to have to refudiate that. Big Grin

Oh, I've expressed my opinion - quite clearly - about his useless wars, but I've never said I want him to die. I defy you to find such a post from me.

She's just being eco friendly. Big Grin

So, what did you call BUSH when he was prez?

I'm not a Pelosi fan, though she is interesting to watch because she seems to be in her own world, but it's not okay to call some comments 'snide' and let others slide. This is the hypocrisy we've been talking about.

And do you remember a thread - back in the summer I think - where ferrell or someone put up the worst pics he could find of Democratic women and the best pics he could find of Republican women and called it "Why Republican Men Are Happier"...or something like that? I remember going a few rounds with you on that and you weren't exactly defending the (very accomplished) Democratic women. Do I need to find that thread? If it's wrong for one side, it's wrong for both sides.

Anyway, what have I said about Bush? Remind me.

When Bush was pres, did you just call him sweet things?

As for the pics, I remember it went over well at the other place too. Wink

Hey, all you had to do was put up pics of ugly reps and pretty dems. Couldn't find any? Big Grin

No, didn't look for any pics. I think the ladies' resumes speak volumes about their worth.

As for the pics, +1 for you but, then again, no one there knew who b-cup was so I wouldn't have expected it to get much attention.

Now, how do you justify the hypocrisy? (You're obviously trying to deflect because you know I've got you on this one.)
I just love it that the right wing radicals are so intent on demonizing Nancy Pelosi. It could be they fear that she will continue to hold the caucus together and in time the American voting public will realize exactly which leaders of which party put their best interest at heart. Or they are all just sheeple of Fox and friends and regurgitating what they have been taught by Bill O'Reilly and company.

I wondered about that. Why did you not use your regular name over there?

As for hypocrisy, sure. It was funny. Had it been reversed, I would have been ticked.
Part of the game. Smiler

More hypocritical posting from the high priestess of denial. GEORGE BUSH LEFT OFFICE WITH THE LOWEST APPROVAL RATING OF ANY PRESIDENT IN HISTORY!

At least you admit it. So please don't refer to my remarks as snide anymore.

Why did I not use my regular name over there? There are several people on that forum with multiple forum names, but you know that don't you?

So why don't you use the same name on both forums? Big Grin

Npw, he matches Obama. Obama will eventually eclipse Bush even in that respect.

Glad to see you are becoming BFF's with Nancy Pelosi b50m, do you know Nancy rides a broom because you saw her while you were on yours in the "broom"pool lane???? Cool

First question, did you make that joke up? Second question: Why?

Shoot, all that showed was "worthless witch" and I thought it was about my county rep Rhea Tays Fulmer.

Such a cheap shot! You disappoint me. Why can't you disagree with the commissioner AND be respectful about it? Why even bring it up here?

Respectful?
Rhea Fulmer is disrespectful of George Grabryan, on a personal and professional level. She is disrespectful of DC Thornton as he is the other commissioner in that district. She is disrespectful of the other county commissioners as no work of any importance is being accomplished in the county because of her bullying.
She is disrespectful of Dewey Mitchell as he attempts to do his duly elected job of chairing the commission and leading the things that need to be accomplished for the county.
She is disrespectful of the citizens of Lauderdale County as she is wasting time and resources.
Sadly, she is disrespectful of herself. No one in their right mind could behave like she does and be proud of what she sees in the mirror.
Well other than the obvious hypocrisy, let me just throw a few about your princess: Sister Sarah from Wasilliness. The Mama Grizzly of the GOP complete with muzzle, Caribou Barbie,Failin' Palin, Spiteful Sister Sarah, Sarah Trainwreck, Pontious Palin, Hurricane Sarah, Teaparty Temptrest Pullin Palin, Pandora Palin, Sarah the Quitter I, Sick Sister Sarah, and Sarah Failin Palin,

Get you right wingers fired up? Oh I didn't know it would get you SOOOOOO upset and hurt your feelings! I could even make a "prince albert" joke for Sarah but I won't even touch that! Big Grin

That was my thread, thanks for remembering. We all have to remember this IS an internet forum. Lighten up a little bit. I have no problem with the witch comparison nor do I have a problem with poking fun at Sarah for certain things. Personal attacks on character and kids usually are over the line.
