Apparently a Michigan company that supplies rifle sights to the Army and Marines has been inscribing hidden Bible verses on all of them.

We're supposed to be fighting these wars for democracy--for the security and freedom of the Iraqi and Afghan people. Our enemies' biggest recruiting tool is to portray our actions there as a religious crusade by the Christian West against the Muslim world. So how can we help them out? Well, by shooting people with Jesus rifles of course! I find this not only offensive to my religion but also incredibly stupid from a strategic point of view.

''''Tom Munson, director of sales and marketing for Trijicon, which is based in Wixom, Michigan, said the inscriptions "have always been there" and said there was nothing wrong or illegal with adding them. Munson said the issue was being raised by a group that is "not Christian." The company has said the practice began under its founder, Glyn Bindon, a devout Christian from South Africa who was killed in a 2003 plane crash.''''

I guess nobody saw them until now, or conveniently brought it up now. Do you know how small the writing would have to be? And in English? I don't think the Muslims would even notice.
These verses have been on the rifles since the first time they were made. It is only recently this has been brought out into the spotlight. Hmmmmm... Wonder if this has anything to do with our recent presidents views.

And, what is offensive about fighting for what you believe in? As you think about it most wars are holy. There is right and wrong, good and evil in wars. Then there are the people that choose which side they will be on. Personally if it means a christian against a muslim and the muslim is evil, then thats the side i want to be on.

Radicalized muslims go into to churches, public buildings, and school buses to blow them up. I call it poetic justice that a rifle with the inscription of the bible, the words of GOD, that kills the murders. I am glad the words are there and wish more people had the conviction to do the same!!!
I wouldn't think that the encoding of bible references into the serial number would add any significant cost to the scope. I guess whomever has the job of coming up with the references could be better employed on some other aspect of production. It may be done by computer program and require no added labor. Some on here appear to think that an actual bible verse is engraved instead of just a reference to it in the serial number sequence.
