I would just like to add...I have gotten my glasses at one of the places posted here for about 5 years now. I prefer not to mention the name in hopes that they will change.
The last 2-3 times I was there I was a bit put off at the reception area. There was 2 ladies behind the counter and both times I stood there while they finished business without acknowledging I was there. Finally after standing there, they ask can they help.
Although they have not been outright rude, their manner was far from welcoming.
I too work with the public and I can allow for a time or so...but this seems to be a habit there as I also noticed they treated the other customers the same way.
I am thinking seriously of finding another business that appreciates my patronage.
Dr. McLaughlin gives a very thorough eye exam...$50.00 if I'm remembering correctly.

I always get a good deal at Jody's. The trick is to look at the price tag FIRST, then try on the ones in your price range. If you just go in there and find a pair you like without checking the price, you are going to be disappointed.

Another thing I like about Jody's is that they don't want you to be unhappy, tell you up front to please let them know if you are & give them the chance to change that. Good customer service. I popped one of my lenses out of my glasses, took them by & they fixed them right then - no problem, no charge.
Optometrists are excellent for the majority of eye problems without significant complications. They are trained in thorough diagnosis and treatment of eye problems and know when to refer you. Opthalmologists are also good at exams, but their training is more geared toward medical and surgical problems of the eye and visual system. Either way, you will get good care. Several names mentioned here are excellent choices..we have some good ones in the Shoals.
