Perhaps, those of us old enough can remember when the Dems pointed to the British NHS as an exemplar of how nationalized medicine could work. Never mentioned was that Brit doctors and nurses either took positions in private UK hospitals, or migrated to the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Later, the same doctors in Canada migrated to the US, with many of their Canuck colleagues. The leaving medical personnel were replaced with those from old colonial nations. Joke was that NHS provided the best care Pakistan could provide.
The article states the hospitals may have to ration care. News! They are already doing that. People who are obese, smokers and drug addicts get rationed care. If, they come in with a broken limb or wound, that will be treated. Need a heart or lung transplant -- fuggedaboutit!
