Not be a joke. Understand what the Russians were about. Understand they would exploit weakness. Resign.
What could we do?
Beginning with the smallest Russian bank and continuing to the largest, ban transaction with US banks.
Deny fracking technology to Russia.
Supply fracking technology to western and central European nations, ASAP.
Approve emergency natural gas shipments to Europe this winter, if needed. Approve the licensing on the east coast for LPG for Europe only, ASAP. These two recommendations are the equivalent of the Berlin blockade.
Supply the Ukraine with requested small arms, munitions, plus limited number of light anti-tank weapons and Stinger missiles. If Putin is telling the truth, then, no Russian troops are in danger.
Consider increasing the number of fighter planes in Poland, beyond those sent. Increase their anti-aircraft capabilities.
Build the anti-missile radar in the Czech Republic. Rotate Aegis cruisers and destroyers in the North Sea, with s small naval personnel base in Danzig. This doesn’t really threaten Russia, but would be insurance against the Iranians. Obama has already approved the Aegis ship deployment.
Give President Biden all the support he requires and ensure he naps regularly.
I was within 150 miles of the Ukraine the other day.
Those in Central European countries are scared to death of the Russians--places like Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Monrovia and Romania.
It's not been very long since they lived under Russian rule, and life wasn't good. We toured the KGB headquarters in Budapest with torture chambers in the basement. The sight of the building still strikes fear in hearts of middle age citizens of the city.
Putin has closed most TV stations opposing him. And, murdered reporters against him. Russian meda are reporting that the Ukraine government is neo-N*A*Z*I and closed the Voice of America's Moscow office. Ramp up VOA and Radio Free Europe's broadcasts into Russia with the truth about the Ukraine.
The last thing we need at a time like this is a bunch of lying republican BUSHwhackers advising the POTUS. Past history proves that is a monumental error. The BUSHwhackers choose the wrong country to attack it seems.
