This article points out what a failed foreign policy the US has and how far we have fallen in the last eight yrs. It is enough to make you want to puke. The UN is a useless corrupt organization and their "peace keepers" are gutless cowards as proven in Sebernica, Mogadishu, Lebanon  and now South Sudan. Of course the US will do nothing and the  US UN Ambassador  will send a strongly worded note. I wonder if she would feel differently if she had been raped by 15 members of the South Sudan army. The same army the US embassy requested help from. Yet many in our govt. fail to see the utter absurdity of this. The US should get out now and take every thin dime with us. I am so ashamed of my govt.

Mogadishu - Had a couple of former "Black  Hawk Down' Ranger "fast ropers" come through my LEO BLEOTCs.  One, among many times, this instructor took instruction.  Another time when a former Navy BUD/S . . . was a student in my LE [modified]MOUT class.

Be ashamed of what our politicians have allowed our government to become but forever honor those brave enough so serve.  Like Churchill said, "Never was so much owed by so many to so few."

I in no way meant to denigrate any US service personnel. I was referring to the cowardly Pakistani UN Peacekeepers in Mogadishu who literally had to be forced, at gunpoint in some cases, to go to the aid of the Rangers and Delta Force.

I didn't take it that way.  I'm in agreement with you 100%.  I guess my comment muddied the waters a bit.

I do see the advantage of a forum for all national leaders to meet. However, except for the World Health Organization (WHO), much of the UN efforts are to naught.  While I believe the US should remain a member, it should reduce its support.  Perhaps, the UN HQ could be move to a place more homey to the majority of the second and third world kleptocrat leaders – the Upper Volta River Republic, Ghana or North Korea come to mind.
