I just saw a tape where Bobby Irons says that he is calling on Scott Carrier to raise his standards of integrity to the same level as his own. He said that Carrier does not have as good of a character as he (Irons) does. Well, it ain't Scott who tried to hoo-doo the people and give away the store to ruin a public park for a shopping center. Carrier is a Leader and Irons is a Mis-Leader.

I think Scott is an Auburn University and University of South Alabama guy but he will take all the Crimson Tide support he can get. He loves all the SEC teams, heck, his own initials are SEC! Scott Eugene Carrier.

Riley likes Carrier. Maybe it's because Carrier treats him with respect and realizes you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Scott serves up honey, the Irons serve up vinegar. That's how the Gov's. office sees it. That's because that's the way it is. The Carrier approach is a lot smarter for our area's job prospects, that's for sure. Like Scott says "it ain't party, it's performance." Scott works with Jim Folsom too. They like each other is what I hear. Carrier can work with anybody. The Irons only a select few and that turns out not very good for the rest of us. The proof is in the pudding. Right?

If I was Carrier's campaign manager I would do a commercial with the video of Scott Carrier leading in the State Capital and juxtapose it with the video of Irons standing at the Mayor's podium in City Hall attacking Scott personally, for daring to challenge Irons on a very important public issue, the Bass Pro/Vet Park debacle. Irons said (I have the video) that Carrier "should raise his own standards of integrity up to the level of mine" (Irons) That and a lot of other self-righteous BS. It really makes Irons look small and Carrier larger than life compared to that. I guess Irons "integrity" allows him to mislead the public with lawyered up rhetoric instead of just leveling with the people about how public business is being done, which is what Carrier does. Irons is the do it in private type and we will tell you what we are going to do after the fact. Carrier is open and not scared of the people's input. It comes through over and over again. While Irons is crowing about his "integrity" while being secretive and sneaky, Carrier actually demonstrates it for real. The people see this. I hear it everyday. Scott Carrier will be the next Mayor of Florence, Alabama. Believe it.

Where's Scott? He's no longer on his radio show.
I asked him about it and Scott said he left WBTG because he got fed up with the owner who was skimming money off Scott's commissions. When Scott found out about it he confronted the owner who denied it. Scott threatened to sue, and the owner paid it, proving he was wrong and Scott was right. The owner asked Scott if he would stay and Scott told him to "shove it" and "you gotta be kidding" in so many words and left. The owner is areligious nut who uses that to hide his greed and monry-grubbimg ways. Scott had enough. The owner, like others around here, found out that Scott is the wrong one to pick a fight with. Scott got the money he was owed and made one of the greediest people in this area back down. Scott is fine and the show will be back on the air soon (at another station) Thank the Lord.

My,my Mr.Sam it seems something in this thread has touched a nerve. Name calling will achive whatever cause you support a negitive responce.
Talk about hitting a nerve. It appears that Scott hits those Iron's nerves all the time. Anybody see the council meeting where Booby stood up and personally attacked Scott and then that crazy woman got up and did the same. Then for the next few weeks citizen after citizen said that Bobby owes Scott an apology. The "mayor" and one woman attacked Scott and everybody else ( a bunch of people)got up in public and called them down for it. Scott handled it well and said he is dissappointed that someone of Iron's "reputation" would act like that. Mr. Carrier also said that he does not care if Bobby ever apologizes to him, but that Irons ought apologize to the city and it's citizens. Irons still owes us that for this incident and a whole lot of stuff too. Bobby is the nervous one and it his nerves that have been hit. Believe it.
