I wouldn't call it "having too much faith". The poor woman has mental issues.

"His wife, Kaling Wald, covered the body with blankets and a knit cap and sealed all the doors and vents to the room to keep the stench of decomposition from permeating throughout the house. According to RT, the woman believed that her husband would eventually be resurrected and rejoin the six children and seven adults living in the home. During court hearings, Mrs. Wald said, “We were trusting God. We thought, ‘OK, Lord, you know better.’”

This is exactly what you get when you teach people a doctrine of imminence and pre-tribulation rapture.  You have people that are sure they are seeing certain things that indicate Christ is Coming at any time thinking that surely it's anytime now.  People claim that those who believe in a PreWrath Rapture are wrong because PreWrath is setting a time for Christ Return but that's not true.   PreWrath Rapture proponent do though suggest that Christ Himself instructed the Church and His followers in Matthew 24 exactly how to recognize when the end days and God's Judgment are upon us, the Season of that Judgment that is.

It is pre-tribulationist that have been screaming its happening at this time or that time and giving out dates, such as Harold Camping did in 2011 so sure that all had been accomplished that would prevent the Lord's coming.

Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 5 to those in that town/church that they were not in darkness as to when the "Season of God's Day of Judgment" was to come upon the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 NCV
[1] Now, brothers and sisters, we do not need to write you about times and dates. [2] You know very well that the day the Lord comes again will be a surprise, like a thief that comes in the night. [3] While people are saying, "We have peace and we are safe," they will be destroyed quickly. It is like pains that come quickly to a woman having a baby. Those people will not escape. [4] But you, brothers and sisters, are not living in darkness, and so that day will not surprise you like a thief. [5] You are all people who belong to the light and to the day. We do not belong to the night or to darkness.

Particular emphasis on verse 4.  and compare that statement with what Paul wrote to the very same people in 2 Thessaloniians 2 when he (Paul) wrote/said:

2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 NCV
[1] Brothers and sisters, we have something to say about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the time when we will meet together with him. [2] Do not become easily upset in your thinking or afraid if you hear that the day of the Lord has already come. Someone may have said this in a prophecy or in a message or in a letter as if it came from us. [3] Do not let anyone fool you in any way. That day of the Lord will not come until the turning away from God happens and the Man of Evil, who is on his way to hell, appears. [4] He will be against and put himself above any so-called god or anything that people worship. And that Man of Evil will even go into God's Temple and sit there and say that he is God. [5] I told you when I was with you that all this would happen. Do you not remember?

You see Paul's whole reason for writing this 2nd letter was that the Thessalonians had been led astray by people, teachers and preachers who had them thinking that the Rapture of the Church had already happened and they had been, like our modern day, contemporary book pre-tribulation book series says "Left Behind".  An unscriptural approach to looking at the coming Rapture and like the Theessalonians believed they had been left behind by Christ as Paul had instructed them He was coming and would return.  This necessitated Paul writing a second letter to remind them what he told them in the first place, What Christ Himself told the Disciples, in Matthew 24 (Lk 22 or Mk 11) that certain signs would preceed His coming back for the Gathering of His people/Church.

So again you have people that listen more to man rather than to Scripture, listen more to a radio or media personality Preacher/Minister rather than confirm teachings through the Scriptures themselves.

At leat that is my take and comment on this person.  They were simplly following literally what they had been taught by some person who obviously had no idea about what the Scriptures and Christ said about God's end days plan.

More opinions, yet no more valid than the next persons and certainly no more valid than my own.  You will note that I presented my opinion based upon Scriptures.  If you don't accept the Scriptures, after reading them that's also fine however one person's opinion remains no more valid than anothers and readers should make up their own minds based upon what they personally read and study, and believe.  What thy accept through Faith and that God impresses upon them who follow Him and the Ministry of His Holy Spirit.

Again it's nothing new, that some will consider it nuttiness or foolishness, as this has been the case all along.  Consider the following scripture:

1 Corinthians 3:16-23 NCV
[16] Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? [17] If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person, because God's temple is holy and you are that temple. [18] Do not fool yourselves. If you think you are wise in this world, you should become a fool so that you can become truly wise, [19] because the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. It is written in the Scriptures, "He catches those who are wise in their own clever traps." [20] It is also written in the Scriptures, "The Lord knows what wise people think. He knows their thoughts are just a puff of wind." [21] So you should not brag about human leaders. All things belong to you: [22] Paul, Apollos, and Peter; the world, life, death, the present, and the future-all these belong to you. [23] And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

Mankind makes many judgments upon their own understanding but that doesn't make it right or correct.  In Christ we rely upon faith and Scriptures and God's Holy Spirit to reveal unto us God's directions for us and to reveal His Wisdom unto us.  It is for each of us to make up our own mind.  You, and I'm sure others consider it nuttiness, foolishness etc but then I beg to disagree and suggest that foolishness or nuttiness is being closed minded to consider the possibility that we are wrong and that there is indeed something far Greater than our own selves at work out there.

Yes gb, that is what I posted. Everyone thinks they have it right about what the scriptures say and that someone elses nuttiness is nuttier than their nuttiness. As far as reading the scriptures you listed, no thanks. I've seen all that a 1000 times.

Semi,  I'm not going to argue your point for yes there are many diverse interpretations and teachings depending upon what denomination you choose to worship with/in.  See thought that is a function of humanity and being human for humanity is imperfect.  That is also why God decided to and gave His Holy Spirit to those who accepted Christ and are Saved.  God's Holy Spirit is the very one that brings peace and understanding unto those Christians.

That doesn't mean that every Christian will be responsive to and listen to His Holy Spirit either but if they are then God will reveal unto the Christian His truth and minister unto them from His scriptures.

John 14:15-17 (CEV) 15  Jesus said to his disciples: If you love me, you will do as I command. 16  Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you. 17  The Spirit will show you what is true. The people of this world cannot accept the Spirit, because they don't see or know him. But you know the Spirit, who is with you and will keep on living in you.

Mortal, imperfect, mankind will always disappoint you and everyone else, man/woman is not perfect or sufficient which is why God arranged for His Holy Spirit to be with us and alongside us and literally dwelling in us along with our own inner spirit.    God's Holy Spirit can't be seen on any MRI, X-Ray or any other way and cannot be seen but to the individual Christian God's Holy Spirit is EVIDENCE, PROOF, that God is who He says He is and that our Salvation is legit.  The scriptures are filled with ministries of the Holy Spirit and that Holy Spirit is the explanation for how the Hatred in a person, how the violence in a life, or how a person's life can be totally transformed and changed in the blink of an eye.  Finding Christ, Discovering Christ can do that for anyone.

There are countless numbers of Christians with the SAME testimony about how their lives were filled with grief, anger, contempt, malice, an unforgiving spirit, hatred, you name it and when they met Christ and accepted Christ all that changed in a moment in time and the Peace of God changed their heart into Love.  Remember the fruits of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 (CEV)
22  God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23  gentle, and
self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.

The unsaved, non-Christians seek proof of God, Seek Proof and evidence yet that will never come but for those who acted upon faith, received Christ Message and believed upon Him and accepted God's gift then they received all the proof and evidence that is ever necessary.

One last comment .... don't know if you saw the true story movie about the prisoner of War who survived the Japanese internment camps from World War II.  I heard his personal testimony about how after his release all he wanted to do was to return to Japan and Kill those responsible for the torment and punishment he received while a prisoner of War.  He was filled with hatred and sought vengeance and was tormented with horrific dreams and desires to seek revenge.  He was alcoholic and at the point of losing everything when he went to a Billy Graham crusade at which God reached out to him and he was Saved.  He testified that from that moment, that instant, he knew God was upon him and immediately all of his hatred disappeared and love filled his heart and mind and life.

He did return to Japan only to find those who imprisoned him, tortured him to introduce them unto Christ Love, which he did.  YES man distorts God's word and argues against each other and Christians do things that are very unchristian at times but God is true to His Word and Promise and changes lives from the inside out, instantly, which is why we should always seek out Christ/God and not rely upon mankind for mankind will always fail.

Actually Semi I didn't mean to indicate that at all.  It was just a matter of speech to say I agree with you.  So much negativity and biased assumptions, by some, that it's always an assumption that anything said would be negative.   Interesting when you look at a great percentage of some of the post from various forum members you can almost be assured that everything they say will have a negative, condemning, and critical tone to it and constantly being judgmental of others.

What I believe/don't believe isn't set in stone. I'm always open to be shown that I'm wrong about something. I hope I never get to the point that I have the opinion that my view/opinion is right & that anyone that believes differently is wrong. But another person giving me their opinion isn't proof that what they say is true. Prove to me that what you say is true. Showing me a book, pointing out scriptures in that book, that I've read many times is not proof.

That would be like me showing someone Gone With the Wind, a book they have read, & saying it's a true story. I would need to prove that it's a true story.

How many that tell others they are going to hell, have kids or grandkids born out of wedlock? I had made a thread and asked this, but it's not really 'thread worthy'. Maybe in a thread titled, "Questions christians avoid or can't answer".

King James Bible
A ******* (child born out of wedlock) shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
