MG Butler was a great Marine. However, he also held views against the buildup of the Pacific fleet and the fleets, in general. Some of his views were too much in line with the America Firsters. If we had followed their line, the US would have been defenseless in 1941.

I am old, yes. I'm also mature and have experienced worse times than we have today. I would be honored to be among those who were at the original tea party, but am hardly that old. If one has intelligence, wisdom comes with age. If not, then you end up old and clueless. Sorry, Rocky, but expectations for you are sad.

Well lintfilter, I was raised to respect my elders so I won't point out that I was also told that it is considered rude to brag about yourself, your accomplishments and your experiences. Even in print form. SOO, at least I've got that going for me!
