There is an article, I was reading, today where Amazon is quietly going for the "middleman" dealers now.  Specific dealers were mentioned to be companies like Granger and Fastenal which supply many industrial companies.  Although I had not heard such before I did notice that on a recent trip to Huntsville, while going through Decatur, I noticed that WW Granger had shut down their Decatur dealership/store.  Working for the Railroad, many years ago, I was aware of many dealers such as Granger and being in a highly industrialized area I was really surprised to see the Decatur Granger store close.

I've also noticed that the number of Electronic supplier stores has also greatly decreased and although the Electronics' industries technical changes and improvements have helped along the loss of such stores Amazon.com does supply many of the discreet components and parts that many electronic stores would sell.

The real point of my post is more to the point of is Amazon too big to the point that it has become a real  threat to jobs and families in America?  I remember when the Government went after AT&T years ago breaking it up, calling it a monopoly  and yet today AT&T is larger and more powerful than it ever was and their core industry, that of providing home and business phone service has almost died off replaced by wireless and the internet.

Does anyone think that Amazon will be on the government's target list next?  Given that Bezos is the owner of Amazon as well as the Washington Post and is greatly hostile to Republicans and Trump I wouldn't really want to bet either way.  Still though I can't imagine anyone looking at what Amazon.com has become and not think of a monopoly.
