What Has The Religion Forum Become?

Doesn't seem like much has changed since I've been on the forums. I'm right, you're wrong etc etc. Maybe a little more nasty than before but I'd bet you could go back a few years and see the same topics being argued as we see now. i think I'm gonna move over to the food board. Honestly, debating who has the best BBQ or catfish is more appealing than the religion board.

I've said a while back, nothing religious about the idiot on a slobbering rage

if someone said anything he didn't like or he was questioned.

 

The forum has lost some good people because of it. discussions and active

time is at an all time low. Topics are started and go no where.

The most tiring thing is the old "just because someone disagrees with you"

or " I'm just refuting everything you say" whine whine whine, pope pope pope

Vatican Vatican Vatican. If I hated catholic that much I wouldn't bring it up

with every other breath. And I'm sick of seeing the never ending lies and

that's the reason for Block and/or ignore.

Like most all public forums, it has a mixture of people and attitudes.  I came on the TD Forums in January 2007 mainly because I saw a discussion posted titled "What Is A Christian?"   And, I wanted to see what my home town folks, being in the "belt buckle of the Bible Belt" -- thought about being Christian. 

 

Unfortunately, when I open that Forum discussion, I found it was dominated by two atheists, Deepfat and GoFish.   I joined and posted a rebuttal to their anti-God posts -- and I have been here since.

 

In those days, there was no "Religion Forum" so we had to post all Christian and anti-Christian thoughts in the Misc Forum.  Because so many folks complained about having "religious" posts in their Misc Forum -- the Mods created the "Religion Forum."

 

But, being the "Religion Forum" I have always been surprised to find the posting dominated by mostly the anti-Christian crowd. 

 

Personally, I would love to see more Conservative Christians posting on this forum.  At present there are more from the Liberal Theology side and some from a legalistic leaning.  But, there are some Conservative Christians posting, just not enough -- and I encourage (actually plead with them) to post more frequently.

 

However, I can understand them not wanting to post -- for as soon as a Conservative Christian posts -- our post draws stones from virtually all the anti-Christian, anti-God, liberal, and legalistic evangelists on the forum.

 

So, let me close by asking my fellow Conservative Christian brothers and sisters, "Please become more active on the Religion Forum."  Jesus Christ left us the Great Commission to, "Go, . . . be His witnesses in ALL the world."   And, He told us that we would be hated for His name sake.

 

Luke 6:22, “Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man."

Matthew 10:22, "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved."

Mark 13:13, “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved."

Luke 21:17, "And you will be hated by all because of My name."

 

So, when the anti-Christian crowd scorns us or throws insults at us -- we should praise God and wear those insults like crown jewels.

 

I promise you, all fellow Conservative Christians, that their attempts to keep our voices from the Religion Forum through taunts, name calling, etc. -- in the end will hurt those doing it, more that we who are the targets.   And, keep in mind we are sharing the Word of God for a very good reason -- because our Lord has instructed us to do so.

I have to agree with bill.  Gofish and deepfat turned out to be terrorists on the religion forum and ruined it for the religious.

 

I had never heard or seen a Catholic expose themselves to any forum where their dogma was open to debate; then along comes invic and tangles aholes with his evil twin bill. after a while of ltstening to those two, a dose of deepfat and gofish would be refreshing. and yes I know I misspelled listening and didn't capitalize the first word of a sentence.

 

You say that you misspelled a word and failed to capitalize another.   Yet, you had all the time in the world to correct those errors BEFORE hitting Submit Reply.  Why did you not make those corrections?  Since you did not, that would say that you made those errors on purpose.  For what purpose?  Just curious.

 

By the way, you made a few more errors also; but we will just walk on past those.

Anything on the forum is more appealing than what goes on here. It's really sad that it can't be used in a positive manner.

Catfish sure sounds good!

 

 

i'm partial to catfish haven.. and i love it on thursday nights, travis wammack and the snakeman band sure do put on a good show!

Travis would be a fantastic musician if he was half as good as he thinks he is. He gives playing the guitar a wow factor only to the untrained eye.  

I don't see how people keep from losing their hearing there.

I don't know what anyone expects from this forum. It's like any other in that you have posters with various degrees of insight and intelligence. If nothing else, it gives at least one person the opportunity to "quit" every few months and then return...for some reason.

 

If I don't like a forum, I just won't read it. Simple! Well, at least for most of us.

Hey, OK Corral is the best.  I used to work there and the owners are great. The person  that works he window has always got a smile and a greeting. Everything there is made there and not out of a can. Best stew you can buy.

Funny how different tastes run. I'm not much for bbq of any kind, from anywhere, and as for catfish, can't stand it. But anyway, if I do end up having to eat bbq, I have to have the white sauce. (Mayo, vinegar, lemon juice, pepper, salt, and a sprinkle of sugar) makes bbq tolerable. NOTHING can do that for catfish.

......and we ate at Catfish Cabin in Athens yesterday....again it is my favorite.
