Hi all,

Never really thought about it, but I do enjoy meeting and talking with folks.   At church when I was an Usher, folks started calling me the Walmart Usher -- for I would walk out to meet new comers instead of waiting for them to come to me.

About 20 years ago, give or take a year, Dory and I were home in Alabama for Christmas and New Years.  On New Years Eve we went with all the family to a club in Muscle Shoals.  When the music started, I noticed a large dance floor, good dancing music -- and no one dancing.  Not being shy, I grabbed Dory's hand and we started dancing -- figuring that most folks are shy about being the first one on the floor.  But, all through that dance, no one else got up to dance.

After playing just one number, the band took a break.  Wow, one number and a break?  This will be a long night!

When we got back to our table, my brother told me, "Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you.  It is against the law to dance in Muscle Shoals.  Even the high school is not allowed to have a prom."   Now you tell me!  After this little disclosure I recalled that the police chief and several Muscle Shoals police officers were on duty that night at the club.  Hmmm, wonder if I am going to spend New Years day in the Muscle Shoals jail?

After about ten minutes the band came back - and the lady singer announced that, tonight, dancing is allowed.  The rest of the night, the dance floor was full.   So, I suppose that ignorance of the law sometimes work for the better.

And, when I was still active in the computer industry, I did  enjoy giving computer seminars and teaching classes on computer technology.  I really enjoy leading a Bible study and Sunday School class.

In the mid-1960s I did enjoy studying acting for several years, but decided my skills lay more in the computer field instead of the entertainment field.

So, if all that makes me an extrovert, I guess I have been tagged -- even though at times I do enjoy a wee bit of alone time.   But, Chick, my Friend, that is a good question -- how do we see ourselves? Thank you for raising the question.

God bless, have  a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Ok, you've piqued my curiosity so I have to ask.  What's your profession?

Retired partner in CPA firm.  Specialized in forensic accounting and management/operations audits.  Many of the extroverts I met professionally were the subject of the forensics accounting audits.

Good topic, Semi.  1130 makes the argument so I'll try to make it brief.

Very few in my former professions are introverts compared to the "outside world."  My career field depends on extroverts else they could not survive.  But within my career fields, there were those who were more extroverted ... alpha males/females if you will ... or leaders.

I have found the more extroverted one is in the civilian world one is, without proof of one's capabilities such as Muhammad Ali, the more self centered there is for a need for attention.

All due respects to those successful in the civilian world, I respect and appreciate your "humbleness."  Your words speak volumes.

Those who regards themselves as "hot shots."   Well, maybe not so much ...  and you know it.

So much for my making it brief, huh?
