Obama doesn't want to support gay marriage because he thinks it will suppress the black vote.  I honestly don't think he needs to because black people don't really follow politics.  All they care about is that there is a black president.  90% of them couldn't tell your the Vice President's name.

I agree the President has got to state where he stands on the issue.

If he does not he stands to lose the financial support of his Gay and Lesbian supporters.

As we know the President is hard to pin down on certain issues.

What Gay and Lesbian couples do in the privacy of their own home is their business.

(Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Seinfeld…..

Ignoring the racism in the first post, yes, President Obama's refusal to back marriage equality is a cowardly political calculation, not to mention a completely transparent one. Is there anyone alive who actually thinks that Obama isn't totally fine with gay marriage? His comments after the New York bill passed made it perfectly clear that he supports full marriage rights for same-sex couples, but he still won't just come out and say it. I understand the political calculation--there are virtually no votes to be gained and potentially some to lose--but still, he deserves to be hammered on this issue by both LGBT activists and anti-gay Republicans alike until he's brave enough to take a stand for what he clearly believes with respect to gay Americans. Regardless, 2012 will almost certainly be the last time where full marriage isn't included in the Democratic Party's platform in a presidential election.

There is a difference in a racial statement and a racist statement.  Asian people don't care about Nascar.  It doesn't mean they aren't capable of caring about Nascar and it doesn't mean some Asians don't care about Nascar but on the whole it not valued in their culture.   I stand by my statement.  Black people don't follow politics.  Those that vote are told who to vote for by white elitists at the DNC and black leaders who sell their allegiance.
