Here's another waitress that is apparently wanting her pity party and money. So she got stiffed, so what, surely it wasn't the first time. So she posts his receipt online. Sheesh.

=============================

Warren Sapp admits he stiffed a waitress at a Florida sports bar yesterday ... saying the reason he left her NO TIP was because she was terrible at her job.
He also wrote a note, "Boys don't tip."
For the record, Warren had ordered a soup, chicken wings, a sandwich and a bucket of Heineken, totaling $69.39.

Best,

I'm more with the waiters on this. Their minimum federal wage is $2.13.  If stiffed, I believe they get hit with an assumed TIP amount of $5.13, which means they have more deducted from their wages.  In Florida, their minimum wage is $4.91.  Tip lower, for bad service, but not zero, unless it was miserable. PS. Boys might not tip, but MEN do. I usually tip 20 percent before taxes for good to better service, 15 for average and 10 for poor.

We don't know what happened so I'm not taking up for him, or attacking him, for not tipping. My point, there's no reason in the world for his business to be put out like that. It's not a good feeling to work and do your best and not be tipped. Anyone that has ever waited tables has been stiffed at one time or another. What most people don't understand is that not all the poor service they get is the server's fault. The kitchen staff can kill you when you're busy and they either slack off,  get slammed, they're short staffed, or any hundred of other things can happen. IF food comes out late, messed up, or cold, they have to point it out to the kitchen to have the problem fixed, that makes the food come out even later, and the server gets the blame. That shouldn't mean that every server that isn't tipped should take to the net to try to cash in on the situation by humiliating the person. That makes them look as bad as the customer. He said she kept calling him and his group "boys", and he didn't like that. He should have politely told her he didn't like it. Look at what he wrote, "big boys don't tip". That looks like he's telling the truth.

Firing this waitress may have been going to far, not enough details to really tell. But, this one comment from the story was really over the top. Someone that doesn't tip is sub-human?

**************************************************

From the article:

“Do I think the people that stiffed the girl are sub-human? Yes, I do. But WTH was she thinking?" another user wrote. "She knows the people, they have mutual friends on FB. Did she not think her post would be seen? She probably could have gotten away with a little rant, but to post a derogatory name was going too far."

The receipt actually said  "boys don't tip". Not big boys as I posted. So yes, it looks like that was what caused him to stiff her.

The waitress called into the Andy Slater Show on Miami’s WINZ on Tuesday and said Sapp had “overreacted” to her comment:

“We were busy. I walked over to his table. It was him and one other guy and I said, ‘Hey boys, what I can I get you to drink?’ And he was like ‘We’re not boys. I’m a man,’” the waitress said. “I mean, saying ‘Hey men, what do you want to drink?’ sounds kind of weird, I think. I go with ‘boys’ a lot. It sounds more youthful.”

I wonder what he does if called a boy twice? Sounds sort of like a threat.

I don't think it was a threat really, that he was just saying that after this any other waitress is warned or whatever not to address him as "boy". I don't think she meant it to be an insult. I've heard people way up in age call their husbands and their friends the boys, and older men say "me and the boys". Anyway, his reaction was a bit too much, but she should have just dropped it and gone on about her business. There was no reason for her to post his receipt or even mention the incident, except, again my opinion, she thought she'd get sympathy and money.

what does it matter? anyone in a commission job will tell you there are people that don't pay enough. if he had tipped huge would she have posted it?  ask a car sales person how many times a person that makes plenty of money negotiates til there is no commission. the point is there should be some privacy and posting about someone on social media should require permission. there will always be small commission (tips) and there will be big ones.   if you think small tips are wrong then just always tip big, shop at the high price store, and pay the most.
