Why do people laugh when a guy gets hit in the crotch? From what I understand it is very painful. Why is it funny to see someone hurt? Why do men laugh when they see another male take a groin shot?

Much like asking "Why is anything funny?" 
I don't get it either..that $#!t hurts. I guess mebbe it's a nervous, knowing laugh? Kind of like a "Whew! Glad that wasn't me....". I dunno. I think you'd have to have a sadistic streak to find it actually humorous.
Never found it funny. I never found 'bodily function' jokes/scenes in movies funny either. Must be a 'guy thing'.

I think seeing a big poodle dancing upright with people doing the conga is funny. Animals in human clothes makes me laugh my head off. [but my mom HATES seeing that] Seeing little kids do silly dances is funny.
Watching someone fall or be hurt or embarrassed or scared-- not funny. I loath practical jokes.
There's a show called something like TV's funniest clips. Half of the clips show people being hurt in one way or another. Saw one where a guy acts like he's proposing to his girl friend, pulls out a jewelry box and opens it. It was full of jumping crickets and scared her. Good husband material.
