What I said was (please man, can't you read?) it is not allowed or tolerated. If caught with **** on your government computer, you will be fired. Dosn't mean some people don't try.
Government tries to block non essential sites on their network (I had trouble getting WHNT for weather on my TVA computer , I guess it wanted to read the w for a c or something), but there are a lot of Government computers that are not necessarily tied to the intranet , but they do check them from time to time or when they are returned for unauthorized usage, and if you check out a computer you have to sign that you will not use it for any other purposes than for you government business.

It ain't like you are trying to depict it as being.

Fraud isn't tolerated, or allowed. didn't stop the SEC from ignoring it.  The IGs found numerous instances of employees viewing po rn for hours, including downloading it.  You attempt to minimize the problem.  The agencies involved need to tighten their software programs to prevent further misuse  and make examples of those who were found with po rn.

What agency do you work for that you know all this ?

Seeweed, Are you clueless!  As I've stated, I'm a retired CPA from one of the larger firms.  One doesn't have to work for the government to see the problems.  For my [professional interest, I've studied the audit reports of government IGs for years.  Fraud laps over from public to private.

Here are a few instances for several government agencies -- over a number of years.

Have you no ability to reason and put 2+2 together ? the simple fact that the IG was on this means that guy is in trouble.
|Again, don't give me any fox links, just tell me what you know first hand from whatever agency you work for.
Personally I have checked out a lot of computers from the Government , and I know , that if I misuse any of them, I will not have that job ever again. It is made clear.
In fact, most of the people I know who also check out computers , when they travel, always take their own computer along to write e-mails, check bank balances, FB, etc. While some of that stuff , like checking bank balances may get by, the general thought is  Government computers for government business only, personal computers for whatever else you want to do .

I know, I occasionally live in that environment. I'm also sure that on occasion there are people who think they can beat the system, and some do for a while, but you try to make it sound like that's all people in the Government do, and I can tell you that is a **** lie.
Like I said, I know, I've used a lot of government computers, and still occasionally do some work.
Unless you work for some agency, you don't know, just what you hear on , what is it , FOX ? Yea , right.

I also know of some people out on government jobs who have smoked weed (on their own time), and once they got caught, they are gone, permanently . Do you think that smoking weed on government jobs (even on your own time) is the norm  because a few have done it ?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

seeweed, you are attempting to project you personal experience into the entire government.  At the best of times, the IGs are under budget and understaffed for their mission. For every transgression as to po rn, or other malfeasance within in the government, that represents, at best, about 10 percent of the actual problem.

With the onset of the Obama administration, the problem had become much worse.  IGs have been dismissed in spite of laws to the contrary, they've been denied access to information illegally, and their budgets and manning levels cut even lower.All this is well documented, even in the MSM.  Obviously, from my links, I didn't rely upon FOX.  There are too many more outside them.  Haven't you paid attention, as even the left has complained.  At best, you reference to FOX is rather quaint, if not dated,
