i have greater hop;e than g'g'great grand kids..

today on Ellen, wanda sykes was on.. she was talking abotu her and her wife's little girls.. one of them, the oldest is grownign up bilingual.. wanda's wife is french, so the little girl calls her Mamon... there is supposed to be one of those little accent things in there.. and she calls wanda mommy.

but, because she is little, it comes out Mammy.

Now Ellen. .you know i can't be haven my baby callin her black mother Mammy. and she always waits till i'm in the kitchen.. Mammy! oh mammy!

ellen was dyin, i was laughing my butt off, and my 12 year old daughter asked me "why is that so funny?"

if we dont' teach kids about racisim, and treat everyone equal, they will understand that we are all equal, and won't understand why there were ever racial issues in the first place.

kids have to be taught to hate - that's all i'm sayin.
To a certain degree, racism is a manifestation of "the other." Those that do not look or act as whatever is the majority of a group. Chinese makes nasty jokes about Japanese (evil dwarfs). Koreans make jokes about Japanese (yellow dwarfs) and their small male equipage. Japanese make jokes about Korean men and their predilection for ducks as romantic partners.

Children pick on those who don't quite fit their group.
