Wait a minute: I thought 'voter fraud' didn't exist! Well, apparently it does, and the Democratic Party thinks it's 'OK'.

Please don't tell jt or Jank, according to them voter fraud either does not exist or it only occurs on the Republican ticket.
i believe what was said was "voter fraud is a very small percent.'.. the majority of the 'voter fraud' from the last TWO election cycles.. was republican. but, there has to be some reason the republicans lost the election.. it can't be because the majority didn't want to vote republican.
This reminds me of a good fit for the "Memphis Another Casualty Of
Democrat Reign" topic. The election that brought the house down started
when a recount was called for because of the closeness of the outcome.
The incumbent had more video, hardcopy of obituaries, the list of dead
votes and other infractions showed the Mayor he couldn't lose.
So the Democrat told the Mayor if there was a recount he would burn the
town down. Because of what would've happened to some good people
the recount didn't happen.
And for some reason after that, seems like every other car in mempho
had a Michigan tag and the end began.

So, if there is evident voter fraud, on both sides, what is wrong with requiring people to use a photo ID in order to vote? You need it to cash a check, drive a car, see the doctor, buy beer, rent a boat / car, and check into a hotel, but the liberal agenda finds it disturbing that people think you should also need one to vote.
What, did the teabaggers find themselves a bigfoot ?
I don't have near as much problem with ID cards (assuming one can acquire them easily and without cost - especially easily) , as I do with the states that are shutting down early voting , and I wish Alabama had that, but we are too backwards.
What I mean by getting that photo id easily, is access all year long to whoever is issuing them, not a limited time here and there, and they should be free.
Most people have a photo ID in the form of a drivers license or whatever, but people living in big cities like NY probably don't have a drivers license, or a car . Also , elderly people may not have a drivers license, but in both cases, iti is wrong to deny those people the Constitutional right to vote. We should be working on getting more people to vote, not trying to get less.
When someone goes to register to vote, they should be issued a photo ID right then and there. Problem solved. For those already registered, the door should always be open for them to come get one at any time (well, not sat or sun) .
Again, before requiring voter ID, one can't state that voter fraud is negligible, as there were no effective internal controls to ensure only those eligible voted. As to NYC residents not having an ID because they don't drive -- not hardly! If they wish to buy liquor, cash a check, go into a number of buildings, get a prescription, get or use an EBT card, have a checking account, cash in their pay check at a check cashing shop, buy a home, rent an apartment, or any number of transactions they must have a state issued ID. Even the homeless have ID, if they wish to obtain an EBT card to use at restaurants.
Of course, the Dems posting here did not mention one of their own convicted of voter fraud, then honored. Complete deflection mode.

I don't know the particulars on that and am not going to comment until I do, but it is not on my list of priorities, and sure as hell I'm not going to get it from a teabagger website.

Now, seeweed, head in sand with tail feathers exposed is a ridiculous position to take, even for a deflecting Dem.
Cincinnati paper had the same story'
http://www.cincinnati.com/stor...worker-hero/6712981/
"A Hamilton County poll worker who has been held up nationally as an example of voter fraud took the stage at a local voting rights rally – outraging Republicans and dismaying even top local Democrats.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, keynote speaker at Thursday's rally to kick-off the campaign for an Ohio Voters' Bill of Rights Ohio Constitutional amendment, even hugged Melowese Richardson.
Richardson, a Democrat, was convicted of voter fraud after using her position as poll worker to vote more than once in the 2012 presidential election. She got a five year prison term, but was released earlier this month after local Democratic activists pressed for a fairer term."
If Republican want a really funny story, they should try to snag her during the next election -- on probation as a felon.
seeweed,
I sure don't have a problem with the county providing a free ID to people and have the office available to them all year long, that is reasonable. AS to trying to "get someone to vote"....they ought to want to vote. People should want to get some "skin in the game" and have their voice heard. I don't know why it is so hard to convince people. My only guess is that most look at it in a fatalistic view and think that "they" (and I am not sure who they think "they" is) are going to put whoever they want in office, so why vote? For the last few years I felt like I have wasted my vote for sure, but at least I can say I tried to do what I think was right.
For the most part I do think that the vast majority of people do vote, certainly more than used to, and because the country is so narrowly divided it is even more important that every legitimate vote count. Those who should not be voting (convicted felons, illegals) should not be allowed to cancel out yours or my vote with one cast illegally, and for that reason I fully support voter ID laws.
But teyates, not wanting illegal immigrants to vote is racist. Never mind that they are breaking the law and have no skin in the game.
I'm proud that they actually caught someone for voter fraud. They have put so much time, effort and money into it, I'd hate to see them empty handed
Yep...caught her, slapped her on the wrist, turned her loose, and then honored her....So much for discouraging others from committing what used to be considered a serious crime.
Jt, for you or anyone to think there is no voter fraud is asinine. What in the world is wrong with you lefties anyway?
more news from bizarro world, i see.
jt, the rt. wingnuts just can't believe they lost the election.. they're looking for any excuse to explain how they lost.. and it's only been a year.. now, we have to put up with romney telling us how wonderful he'd have been, as potus.
Jt, for you or anyone to think there is no voter fraud is asinine. What in the world is wrong with you lefties anyway?
I don't know why we keep letting righties restricting out right to vote
So jt, you don't mind if the "lefties" vote more than once? How about if the "righties" do the same?
No one is trying to restrict the right to vote, what people are asking for is a little accountability. I know my vote your should not count more than yours, and vise versa, so when I am allowed to vote twice, or three times, and you once, I just trumped you.
Let's remove the viel of suspicion and provide people with a voter ID card, free of charge, that will dispell these issues. However, people such as convicted felons and illegal immigrants SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to vote since their rights (in some cases) have been taken away by their actions. Those that have had their voter eligibilty removed because of their actions, should not get it back. Did you study civics and sociology while you were in school?
How is a voter ID restricting anyone's right to vote?

-----------------
Who's restricting your right to vote? I show my license when I go vote. Are you claiming they know which party I'm voting for? How is that possible? What's odd about the argument is that you want people to believe it only affects people that would vote for democrats. Maybe the question you should be asking is why people can get photo ID to do anything else they want to do, but claim they can't get it to vote.
why is it so hard for the republicans to understand that voter fraud is minor.. and nobody is against 'voter id laws'.. we just want everyone to be able to obtain the needed ID.. i believe JT is referring to the gerrymandering, taking place now, by the republicans.
So I call BS....and refer you back to the OP's original premise. What about a well known Dem leader who "honors" a known and convicted individual who actively engaged in voter fraud, Crash?
Would you feel the same if it had been a Republican or if the TeaParty held a big meeting and Senator Cruz gave accolades to someone for admitting they had done the same?
how much is enough to be considered significant?
ask bush.. he looked for about 5 years.. he couldn't find any. 'voter fraud' is the newest way the republicans are 'gerrymandering'. surely you object to that?
Yet for years the Libs and Dems cried that voter fraud had occurred in Florida and denied Al Gore the opportunity to sit in the WH as POTUS. Yet, when those of us who are actually concerned about the issue from both viewpoints want something done about it, the Dems and Libs are crying that we are trying to take away voting rights, or that the issue is not relevant. If the Republicans manage to take the House / Senate, or the WH in the future, will you still feel the same way?
i'll feel the same way, every day. now, how about answering my question about the recent 'gerrymandering'.. do you support redistricting to help republicans get elected? what about shutting down 'early voting'? do you support denying some people the right to vote, because they can't get to the polls during work hours?
Vote early, vote often. The all American way
