Yeah, I am so embarrassed that my team lost to a team that was ranked #7 and finished their season 13-0.

What was YOUR team's record? What ranking did THEY finish with?

Naw, I wasn't happy that my team lost their bowl game. Did your team win theirs? Or did they not manage to win enough games to even be INVITED to one?
Did you not read all the post? Can you read where the AU fan was "dissing" this person for making this statement?
But, it is AL fans like you that give others a bad name. No AU did not go to a Bowl game this year but.....the real question is...how many times has the "Cow College" threw cow patties in your face over the past 10 years. Enough for AL to be considered the "Cow Sh>> College". Now that is your words of wisdom! LMAO at a smart azz like you!

Wow, what a real intelligent statement. How old are you? 12?
As far as the game, Bama did stink it up. The Utes came in with a chip on their shoulder and played like it. They wanted it more, they executed better, controlled both sides of the line and had a better game plan. As far as overrated, I do believe Auburn was rated in the pre-season..... at least Bama should finish in the top 10.
*walks away laughing at your post*
Oh, fineazell1, before you hvae a chance to say Florida and they are playing in the BCS National championship bowl let's look at a post from a few weeks ago by you:

You guys had a great season. You will lose to a great team next week so there is no reason to hang your head.

7 - 3 over the last decade is a pretty good record for us Aubbies.
The Utes won their first REAL game of the year. Oh well, we can thank Andre Smith for the disaster. We played better than AU this year tho! As for TN, they stunk up the joint too. Next game I am pulling for Oklahoma! Go Sam! He has much more class and talent than Tebow. Tebow is a one man team. What happens to FL if they take him out???
I am amazed at the level of intellect that shows up on here after a big game. Bama fans will not let up on the fact that Auburn had a bad year and probably could not have beaten UNA. Ok folks, the Iron Bowl is over. Auburn was out months ago. But the egoistical Bama fans and their team sat in the #1 position in the country for 5 wks.,then played in the SECCG and all of a sudden they were the underdog for that game,(#1 in the country and the underdog?? and they lost to a FL team that was minus one of their key players), and then they forgot about that game and went back to bashing the, as they called it, the "Cow College" which they already had beat in the ground. Now they get in the Sugar Bowl and think they should be playing a better team than Utah and Bama finds out that the SEC is not the toughest in the country. They get taught a real good lesson from Utah, and boom, what are most bama fans talking about on here today, Auburn and how they were not invited to a bowl, etc. Who at this point cares??..Alabama has been on the hot seat ever since they moved to #1 and when it came down to the 2 biggest games of the year they failed, with their big time defense, offense.. All teams better start thinking outside the SEC box because there are some dangerous teams out there and USC is one of them. And Utah is right in the middle of them. (Remember what Bear did around 69 or 70 with USC to prove a point).
The tide could have won the last 2 games if they would have stayed focused and realized what they were up against. But I made this statement before, I think to most people and maybe some players, 2009 will be a good year for them knowing they beat Auburn in 08. They will forget about how close they were to a National Championship and that is sad..My hats off to Utah and they deserve everything they worked for..
Dockurtng....I think most of the Auburn bashing by Alabama fans occurs in response to an Auburn fan's comments. I think Alabama probably played the best team in the nation last night in the Sugar Bowl and the Utes deserve to be considered for the #1 spot in the polls. Would Andre Smith have made a difference? we will never really know but I think he needs to be made an example of as to what happens when you violate NCAA rules and have contact with a sports agent. It's always the school who suffers and the player gets a fat NFL contract, the agent makes out like a bandit with his percentage take on the deal and the school is left with the aftermath.
I'll leave out my opinion this time and simply talk numbers
Finishing records before bowl games

8/30 @ No. 9 Clemson 7-5
9/06 Tulane 2-10
9/13 Western Kentucky 2-10
9/20 @ Arkansas 5-7
9/27 @ No. 3 Georgia 9-3
10/04 Kentucky 6-6
10/18 Mississippi 8-4
10/25 @ Tennessee 5-7
11/01 Arkansas State 6-6
11/08 @ No. 16 LSU 7-5
11/15 Mississippi State 4-8
11/29 Auburn 5-7

Losses
12/06 vs. No. 4 Florida 12-1

Opponents (they beat) finishing record 66-78 (for you math geniuses that is a LOSING RECORD)
Opponents (they lost to) finishing record 25-1

They had a ridiculously easy schedule, playing in an SEC that is way down compared to SEC standards. They went into the Florida game an underdog because they WERE the underdog. Their only quality win was against Ole Miss (funny I know). Georgia finished on paper strong but that program was down this year too.

So it isn't like Bama ran the table on top tier teams and then ran out of gas down the stretch. They were a decent team - not the number one team by far. Not even a top 5 team.

Saying they suck was out of line because they don't suck - but they were extremely overrated and losing to Florida and then Utah they way the did only justified that statement.
If people could put this kind of energy in to the economy maybe we wouldn't be in a recession! I love Alabama football, its a tradition. I'm a fan whether they win or loose. Isn't that how its suppose to be. Cheer when they win and whine when they loose, thats what makes the world go around! Not worrying about who they played or their records, just watch the game and go on with your life!

Yea, lets take a look at Alabama's 'ridiculously easy schedule' as you call it. There is no way Alabama could have known how the season woul play out during the year so we'll look at the pre-season. from the pre-season poll Alabama beat #1 Georgia, #7 LSU, #9 Clemson, #10 Auburn, and #18 Tennessee it's not Alabama's fault these teams didn't live up to expectations (well, maybe it was to some extent). They also beat Ole Miss who had moved to #20 by the end of the season, and there only two losses were to #1 Florida (pre season #5) and #6 Utah. All this from a team ranked at #24 in the pre-season poll, they really suck don't they? I can see why you would say they are an embarrassment. The SEC isn't weak, the Big 12 is way over rated. And Utah may well be the best team in the nation at the end of the season, but thanks to the BCS we will never know will we.
You are all over the map with this. Any person that knows anything about college football knows that preseason rankings mean absolutely NOTHING.
In order to evaluate a season it has to be played first.
So when you talk about a team's accomplishments you normally do it AFTER they accomplish it. In this case, talking about a bunch of teams that WERE ranked BEFORE they actually PLAYED anybody is pointless.

My, my... aren't we a little touchy?

I wasn't speaking to adam, the Auburn fan. I was speaking to fineazell, who talked trash without stating WHAT team he supports. That's why I asked the questions I did. If he's an Auburn fan, looks like his team didn't win (or play in) a bowl game. If he's a Tennesse fan, looks like his team didn't win (or play in) a bowl game. And if his team did play in a bowl game, I invited him to speak up.

Just because your team sucked this year is no reason to be a whiny little baby. So, what IS your reason?

I was responding to the statement that Alabama
quote:
had a ridiculously easy schedule
it certainly wasn't Alabama's intention to have a easy schedule. They beat teams that had the talent to be placed high in the pre season poll. I know college schedules are made well in advance and you can never tell how things will work out, but their schedule wasn't much different than Auburn's or Tennessee's and if they were 12 - 0 at the end of the regular season their fans would expect a number one ranking, why would it be any different for Alabama fans?

To many people (especially Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 10) the SEC always seems weak because they all beat each other during the season but, all the teams are GOOD and can beat anyone on any given day. Who would have thought Ole Miss would beat Texas Tech the way they did? And I expect Florida to rip Oklahoma a new one. Alabama didn't play well in the Sugar bowl but, Utah was a much better team than they were given credit for, on both sides of the ball. And Utah IS 13 - 0 and the NCAA Div I football needs a playoff system, every other sport has one in high school, college and the pros.

Thus, Auburn's #10 ranking, eh? Big Grin

My point exactly. Auburn sucked it up this year - proving my point that a team's value should be judged AFTER they have actually finished playing.

I agree about the playoffs. I disagree that Utah was underrated. I think Utah handling Alabama was a shock not because Utah was underrated but because Alabama was Overrated.

Utah wouldn't stand a chance against Florida, Oklahoma, USC, Texas, even Texas Tech. Utah had a cake walk schedule playing in the Mid West Conference

Their "quality" win this year was TCU - another MWC team. Give any of the top 5 teams Utah's schedule and they would be undefeated as well.

Utah wouldn't stand a chance against Florida and Texas Tech.??? Alabama played Florida close, and Bama beat Ole Miss. If you remember, Ole Miss completely dismantled Texas Tech after the first quarter. Not only would Utah have a chance against any of these teams, I think they would probably win. After all, no one else has beaten them either.
