Well I would add one Learn to grow your own food. Jim Rogers one of the smarter guys out there thinks that we may be seeing food shortages as well.

Just wait for the coming great dustbowl of California's San Juaquin Valley, also known as America's breadbasket. The water has been shut off to that region to save a few different fish habitats in the Sacramento Delta system. Family farmers are literally losing the farm because they can't raise crops. That land isn't being used and the topsoil is being depleted through errosion due to no water. The Great Dustbowl will be national news in another year or two.

I am 29 years old and would forfeit my social security benefits in the future if I could opt out today of paying into social security. If I could take that amount and put it an IRA, I would double my return at the least versus social security.

Yes, everyone that pays taxes got a tax cut under W. Just look at the tax tables from 1998, and 2008. You will find that taxes were lowered in all tax brackets.
