When you think of how it all started, in Bezos Garage, by just offering a very limited supply of books online, to come to what it is now it surely has many wondering just how big they are going to become.
I heard/read about one of the future plans of Amazon was to establish huge distribution centers, in the sky, floating as blimps, and using drones to deliver a variety of products within a certain delivery zone. Already Amazon is looking at their own trucking and airline company so it's open ended it seems, at the moment, as to just how large Amazon can get. No doubt Bezos will become the richest man in the world before too long.
I have no doubt of Bezos future wealth based upon his visions for his company.
Something I have noticed about Amazon buying Whole Foods, is Bezos’s step into a move, into the Future of how we will be buying our groceries and personal goods. Bezos will decide how you will be making your future purchases with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI-smart shopping). It will predict what you are going to purchase, before you purchase items, based upon all your previous purchases and use of in home devices which will learn what you have in your home. (pantry, refrigerator, freezer, cabinets). Kinda like devices which will take an inventory of all your purchased items and those that exist visually in the home space.
For me, I do not want that many devices that will be intrusive into my private home or life for that matter. But its already here, we just don’t see it in front of us.
I foresee it happening in small steps then massive larger steps making the move to “Knowing & Monitoring All within your Home”.
Examples – Like the Smart electric meters, which allow the meter man to never leave the main road in front of your house to read your meter (small step). Larger steps would be the evolution of AI - monitoring the electric usage within your home per device within the home. In other words, All the electric appliances will be able to communicate to each other & the electric meter. Lots of data can be collected for predictability habits by the occupants. This in turn helps the electricity dept. forecast future electrical needs, all based upon previous demand per appliance usages. Plus, with the AI (artificial Intelligence) Bezos (Amazon) can also learn the age of your appliances and can send you an instant message, advertising – Time to Replace that aging Washer & Dryer, with Amazons Eco Friendly Replacement, with the most innovative Monitoring Sensors installed, to collect more data about you & your life living habits. Well, I wonder if AI will try to link up with a 1949 Sears Roebuck, Ringer Washer?
These next 20 years will make today look like living in prehistoric times.
