I have a friend that they let take her small dog with her in a carrier, the reason, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, because the carrier fits under the seat. She doesn't claim it's a service dog. But anyway, I don't see how this is a news story and what they expected the airline to do. Sounds bizarre that he would have that severe a reaction. How does he function on the ground where dogs are everywhere? I hate these one-sided stories where they try to make someone that did nothing wrong, look bad. There had to be a reason the other passengers applauded when the family left.
