I think De Niro came totally unhinged flat our delusional after Trump was elected to the point that just about anyone around him finds him difficult to be around, but that's just my own belief or feeling. Got to remember, also, that De Niro has quite a drug abuse past and was even one of the last to visit Belushi right before he died of a cocaine speed ball. In fact De Niro was staying at the same location and was known to accompany Belushi in Belushi's suite and get wasted on drugs.
I think De Niro is just totally unhinged and no better way to describe it and his wife, I assume, just has had enough of it and reached her limits of what she would tolerate. Then again maybe she's a bit of a Trump fan herself. I also have to say, at least in my opinion, Alec Baldwin is not too far behind him and both could easily warrant a padded room and if Trump wins re-election they just might find that padded room.
