I'm no expert on the subject, but here's the way I understand it: if you're from Mexico and have your papers and are legal, you have nothing about which to worry. If you don't, get the heck out. This is no different from a police road block: if you have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and current registration you're good to go. If not, they should impound the car and tell you to get a ride. Follow the law and you should be worry-free.
