At times there is a reason the grass is greener on the other side.

The old saying that the grass is always greener on the other side, or something similar to that, often brings along another realization and that is that it's greener because the fertilizer is deeper and more plentiful that causes that green growth.   All saying aside the fact is that often people wish for more money and sometimes a very select few realize their dreams over night only to realize that they have a whole new set of worries to cope with.

I used to continuously argue with relatives and friends about wishing that they could win the lottery and therefore solve "all their worries" because I would say that it would only shift their worries and concerns in a new direction.   Their money worries might be lessened but, coming with that, if by a small fortune in a short time due to something like a lottery, they would find there would be people coming out of the woodwork that they never knew trying to take something from them for nothing or the lives and health of their family would be under threat from those who would potentially seek to relieve them of some of their realized gain.

I read somewhere today about an executive in Europe being freed from a kidnap situation only after a 1 Million Bitcon payment was made to secure his release.  There will always be people who will seek to take advantage of others by threat or fraud no matter where you live or are so I suggest that what may seem like a blessing at times turns into a curse.  It isn't uncommon to hear about lottery winners divorcing or years later coming to a point where they point to their lottery winnings as being the worst thing that ever happened to them.  I also have personally witnessed many a family come to odds with each other and isolating loved ones due to the death of a family member over the division of an inheritance.

I think that one secret to happiness is to find a way to be happy with who you are and what you have rather than trying to be someone you aren't and pleasing someone else.  Also if  you can't be happy with what you have now then gaining wealth isn't going to make anyone any happier it will only postpone or change the source of that which makes one miserable.
