Old stomping grounds, Sweet Home Chicago... Some of the Toughest Gun Laws in the Country.

If not being shot at School, then Coming home from School.

May be a record year for shootings, starting early with warmer weather getting everyone out of the house.. Thank God I don't live in Chicago Land. My poor friends are still there and can't wait to retire & get the Ell out of Dodge.

Why compare apples to oranges? The crime rate in Chicago is driven by hopelessness. Zero jobs, because of outsourcing. Little to no assistance in relocation or job training.... the list of factors is available to anyone who wishes to see the truth. Blaming the violence in Chicago on gun laws is like blaming fish for swimming in water. If you take away all hope for a better life, people will find a way to survive. That's kinda how we got to America.

Zero jobs, because of outsourcing.

As I recall, Outsourcing began slowly at the beginning of NAFTA. Bill sealed the deal in Early 90's. Outsourcing was not isolated to just Chicago. Outsourcing began spreading throughout large cities and small town america out of economic necessity for survival. Just like locally  you may recall Tee-Jays, the largest Tee-Shirt manufacturer in the county closed its doors in Lauderdale county. Even my corporation moved around from city to city & each time I had to Reapply for my old job or accept a new job. Life goes on, one way or another. You do have to do your own work to get a new job and not rely on someone else to do it for you. If I waited for the severance package to provide assistance or training, I would still be looking for a job. I learned early on in my career, if you get layed off and not called back to work. The more time away from work without a paycheck, the further behind in saving for your retirement years.. The Key is to stay working & as little time being unemployed. Your Savings dewindle faster unemployed vs.what took years saving to achieve while employed. Think about that...That's reality and your deal with it the best you can. Hopefully you will make good decisions.
