Hi Jennifer,
How do the TimesDaily Mods, or at least the past ones, know my real name? Good question. I have talked with them via telephone, communicated with them via e-mail, and via Private Messages.
In the early days, I had a signature which included my real name, e-mail address, etc. -- because I wanted to be accessible to anyone who had a desire to discuss the Word of God. I have done this on all the venues on which I have written. And, when I talked with the TD Mod I assured him that this is a personal choice I have made. He was comfortable with this, for he told me that in reading my posts he had never seen me being argumentative with other members.
Unfortunately, on the TimesDaily Religion Forum -- posting this info did backfire on me -- for I under-estimated the degree of animosity and vindictiveness I would encounter here. And, sure enough, like you always want to drag people's families into the discussion -- my old nemesis, Fish, went even further. He attempted to send an e-mail to my wife telling her that he was a woman with whom I had an affair at a computer convention.
This was dumb (even though I suppose it made sense to Fish) for two reasons. First, it was my e-mail address and not my wife's. But, I did show it to her. She got a big laugh from it.
Second, she always traveled with me to all the conventions. We always liked to mix work with pleasure -- sort of like a special vacation. After a while, when we walked around the convention, more folks knew her than knew me -- and, it was my computer convention. Walking around the convention, people would call out greetings to her, "Hi Dory, how's the real estate business?"
So, there is no way, even if I were so inclined, that I could have had an affair. I was having too much fun with my wife; we were having our own special little affair -- in Boston, Houston, Dallas, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many other cities.
And, as a clincher, I still have lots of family living in the Shoals area -- and Friends on the Religion Forum who know some of my family members. Regardless of where I write -- it is always and only -- just little old Bill Gray.
