As far back as 2017, that the meeting was supposed to be about dirt on Hillary was revealed.

As one may read, such information was not forthcoming. Even if it were, there is no problem with receiving opposition research info from a foreigner, as long as it isn't paid for.
However, Hillary paid for a foreigner to retrieve information on Trump from other foreigners, who may have been paid for such.
