FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A Shoals man is accused of walking into the Florence Public Library and removing his pants in front of a group of kids that were being read to by parents.

Florence Police have arrested and charged 33-yera-old Randal Richardson, of Sheffield, with public lewdness. Police issued a warrant for the man but have not arrested him yet.

On May 20, library officials say Richardson walked in through the front door and approached a group of kids.

According to witnesses, Richardson removed his pants but didn't go any further. Police said because the alleged incident didn't go any further, they were unable to charge him with indecent exposure.

Authorities said only parents witnessed the event and the children had their head turned when the pants were dropped.
