unclegus, If you look at the lower right corner of the comments you will see two icons, one is a page of text the other a triangle. Pick the comment you want to quote, click on the paper icon under that article, and the text will be in your response. I think you and pogo both need that bit of help, You can edit the comment you are quoting, good style requires that you indicate where you have cut material, generally I use <SNIP> Highlight what you want to cut, and then type <SNIP> the highlighted material will be cut, and replaced with the snip.
I expect to see that used on what I say, I have a tendency to get very long.
