excuse me if i'm wrong, but didn't they say the officer had no knowledge of the prior event? i'd like to see the facts before we pass judgement on either party involved.

The police department has acknowledged that the officer did have some information the strong arm cigar theft.
Now the family of the "gentle giant", together with their loquacious lawyer, are saying that the release of the convenience store video of his hostile actions amounts to "character assassination."
So, then, it is all right for Brown's family and his boon companions in the hood to publicly--and at considerable length--sing his praises as a "gentle giant" and someone who cared so much about others, but it is "character assassination" to release a video that depicts his actual delinquent behavior a few minutes before the incident that threw him in the limelight?!
Go figure.
