Reply to "Home Town Proud!"

Hi all,

NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION -- you may wonder why I called this meeting.  Maybe we can clear up a few misunderstandings -- such as the fact that the Supreme Court, i.e., the Judiciary Branch, has no power to make laws, only to rule on the applicability of them to the Constitution.  ONLY Congress can make laws in the United States.

U.S. CONSTITUTION (1787)

Section. 8. - Powers of Congress

The Congress shall have power . . . To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into  execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United  States, or in any department or officer thereof.

AND,

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. (Ratified 12/15/1791)

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or  abridging the freedom of speech, . . .

Clearly this First Amendment tells us that Congress cannot pass any law which would establish a national religion or church such as the Church of England, when King Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife, Catherine of Aragon -- and the Pope denied his right to divorce.  So, old Henry evicted the Pope and established his own church.  Sort of like the atheists and secularists are trying to evict God from America today.  But, our founding fathers assured that no one, not Obama, nor the Congress, nor the atheists and secularists, could establish a ruling church in America.

Our founding fathers wanted to assure that every American could worship where and when he/she wanted -- or not to worship if they chose.  However, the founding fathers were also wise enough to recognize that one day atheists and secularist would slither into America wanting to declare their religion of Atheism, or as I prefer to call it, the Religion of Nothing, as the ruling religion of America.   Thus, the First Amendment prohibits even the Church of Nothing from being the national religion or church of America.  Praise God  for the wisdom He gave to these brave men who were our founding fathers.

And, that, my Friends, is the way it was -- and the way it is today -- in spite of Far Left Liberal Leaning Justices, Judges, and current Executive administration.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
