I assume that the last post from brentenman was truthful. He left because he was defeated. He either gave up the fight for his csuses, and took it elsewhere, or he decided his cause was unjust and decided to NOT admit that. Or, the AG called him in to discuss some of what he had to say. And he left on account of wanting to keep his job.
I know how angry I became over what he said, and he surely did not feel differently about what I had to say about it. So, to put it simply, I won. That discredits the purpose of these forums. 247 people looked at this thread. 13 responded. There are 21 pages of postings listed in a search for brentenman. He will be missed. I will miss him, he was someone who could be engaged. His position was opposed to mine, and mine to his. That gave life to a discussion.
Another point, he was public now he is not. If he has gone underground, rather than changing his position, he cannot be seen, the unseen danger is the only danger, and the unseen benefit is a blessing. One reason that I argue against the generalized attacks on Islam is they drive the Muslims underground. The history of the Early Christian Church is full of stories of churches forming and meeting in catacombs, and hidden places, and eventually prevailing over thier oppressors.
