Amongst my collection of curios are two bags of devices to fit every hardline phone in the world, a kit to connect with rotary phones and a modem to receive and send internet connections thru such. If, we left it to government, that would still be the norm and not a museum piece. DoD invented the internet (not Al Bore). However, only after it was open to the public did it take off.
