The town is definitely not what it used to be (thanks to the Mexicans) but I wouldn't call it a ghost town.
As for the tri-cities, there is business's in the Industrial Park so I don't know how you missed them. There's also TVA & Wise.
I've wondered the same thing about the new homes going up on 6th St.

Well, then many businesses in the industrial park don't see a need to put up a sign indicating what's there. All I saw were a lot of buildings. Then again, it was a holiday and no one was working anyway, I assume.

I'll always have a certain affection for the area too. I know it's a good place to raise kids and feel safe and all that but it's sad that so many people have to move away to find a job.

I wouldn't mind living in the Huntsville area and have it on the radar once the economy improves.
