Reply to "Impeachment? Never going to happen."

The Democrats are pushing two tracks at the same time.  Some say the impeachment effort should be streamlined to finish by November and sent to the Senate.  However, with all the documentation and persons called for testifying before the committees, I fail to see how there can be a streamlined inquiry.  Plus, the whistleblower's ID is to be kept secret.  How is that going to work?  If it goes to the Senate, Trump's lawyers would have to depose him.  All the contacts in the report must be made known.  Second and third hand information is not allowed in court.  In fact, Trump could petition either the Chief Justice of the US (as the presiding judge in a Senate trial), or all of SCOTUS to deny such evidence.  Even the transcript might be precluded as it was brought forth due to the whistleblower's report.
