Our world has seen some horrendous viruses and diseases through the years and no doubt, as you have alluded to, there will be others to come. Some amazing things to me with this current virus is the thought that the Chinese will be able to build, erect, construct a hospital, or any substantial building, in a period of just 10 days. I just wonder how sturdy and safe the structure will be and if that can be done? I've also heard speculated, about the new virus, that given that one of China's biological disease weapon factories or facilities is located in the city where it was credited to begin, that this new virus could possibly be a virus that escaped the facility there.
I do still believe that pandemics are a probable function of the future I also hope that the advancement of technology and technologies as well as advancements in DNA research will enable scientist and researchers the ability to fight and defend against new potential diseases, viruses and bacterias but then there are still individuals and nations, in the world, that still consider disease, viruses, and bacteria, a source of weapons against their potential enemies.
I do wonder, perhaps fear, that the great advancements of mankind could one-day doom humanity to the edge of extinction if not push mankind over it. There have always been sources and/or things that could mean the end of mankind and humanity throughout time but today I do believe that today, there are more of our own making, our own construction (if you will) than at any other time in our history, whether it be biological, nuclear, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
