The use of the video game and television as after school educational device is a horrid American invention. It is the parents' fault that they do not insist that their children be well read and to study, not the kids, they are only kids and will do as little as possible very often, why is that not the very definition of childhood?
Some homeschool because their kids are too advanced for public school without putting them in a grade for which they are emotionally unprepared. Some, obviously, do a great job at it. Most do not. I done seed it first hand like. I done done fancy book learnin' research on this heah topic, got so disgusted I dumped it as fast as I could and begged for another seminar paper topic.
