We are living in a world, more and more, where white males are the blame for all the world's ills and misfortunes. Sadly the fact that racism is the evil gets lost and becomes accepted depending on which group is being abused or treated wrongly. Today reverse racism is tolerated or even celebrated in some areas, especially, the media.
What is going on in South Africa is the exact same thing that so many were decrying South Africa for during the years of apartheid yet no longer are there calls for punishing the South African government or decrying what is happening to certain South African citizens for having their land taken without reimbursement.
What is going on in South Africa is human nature at it's worst and is the exact same thing that would happen here if minority/majority status was reversed. The fastest way for minority programs and minority help to disappear is for white Americans to be classified as minorities. Just the fact that whites are making such statements would be seen by many as being racist in nature but the only thing that people can go by is history and what is going on other places where something happens.
What should be eliminated and cited for being the evil that it is ... is the racism itself no matter the source or the target of it. Not to add a religious context to the issue but in the eyes of God the creator of the inner soul/spirit there is no color or gender even but there is but the spirit/soul itself. Only the outer container, the flesh, is the differentiating factor. Until we get to the point where we treat racism as the evil and not one race or another for what they did or what they do then there will be no progress toward true equality. There will always be resentment for the evils of the past even though those were done in a time when things were vastly different and looked at differently. Those who were slave owners doubtfully, at least for some, thought what they were doing was evil but sadly that meant they viewed some people as less than human or certainly less than equal but saw them more as tools or necessities for farming.
One irony today is that so many liberals are crying for allowing illegals to be allowed to come into the nation yet many of those same liberals use these people for work that pays far less than most Americans would require to do it yet these illegals do it and work under pressure and fear of being revealed and sent back. In effect they are modern day slaves working farming, being maids, and many other jobs that they make far less than legalized Americans make and the only cries heard are from those who want to prevent conservatives and politicians from restricting their illegal entry into the Country.
The day is approaching where white (European type) Americans are going to be a minority in the United States and the new majority will most likely be Mexican Americans and after that Asian Americans, both populations are growing faster than any other ethnic group in America. How the, then, minority of white Americans will be treated will be a subject for the future to record but in most cases when that day comes most of us will be long expired.
