Logan's Roadhouse ... new menu, mediocre results

I haven't been to Logan's Roadhouse in quite a while so this last week I gave them another try for lunch since I had a 25% off coupon.  I was thrilled to see they have a new menu and they finally corrected a horrendous mistake (my personal opinion) that they made a while back when they removed and did away with the popular Steak Teriyaki and Chicken Teriyaki meals.  I've also always liked Logan's Roadhouse rolls so I was optimistic when I sat down to lunch the other day.

I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and it came with two, "good sized" breast resting on a bed or rice.  I also ordered the mashed potatoes and brown gravy.  It's been a while since I was able to have the Chicken Teriyaki but my memory was, seemingly, better than reality.  The Chicken was good but they were sparse with their Teriyaki sauce and the taste was good but not great.  I was also disappointed with their rolls in that they were undercooked and almost to the point of appearing doughy.

Another couple of things that apparently hasn't changed though is that I never saw a manager go around checking with the patrons as to how their meals was and the reviews they have received on some food review sites is horrible and sub-par.

Another thing that hasn't changed is that the, newer, Muscle Shoals, Alabama location continues to score much lower than the, older, Florence, Alabama location.  One thing that I attribute that to is the store Management and employees at each of the locations.  Logan's has a nice atmosphere in which to dine but when compared to restaurants like Longhorn, Outback, and Texas Roadhouse their quality and taste just can't compete and keep up.  I had hoped I could score them higher as I really used to like Logan's Roadhouse and would eat there often but although I am glad to see them rectify removing the Steak and the Chicken Teriyaki the quality and taste just isn't to the place it needs to be for me to add it back into my dining rotation.  That and there are so many other places that are outstanding.

I know there are plenty that really do like Logan's Roadhouse and bear in mind this is my own subjective opinion based upon my own experiences.  Another may find Logan's great and well worth going and if so please share your own opinions and experiences after this so others will not have to rely just on my evaluation.  I, actually, want to see all our restaurants thrive and survive but some need to make far more improvements than others.
