As for the Newsom/Christian murders, they are similar to the Martin death in only one significant way. The media didn't seem to be covering it until the public outrage brought it to the forefront. Just like the Zimmerman case.

The glaring difference is that law enforcement made arrest right away, even without the push from the public or the families of the murdered couple. They were tried and found guilty. 1 received the death penalty, 2 received life without parole, and the only female received 53 years.

I would say that they didn't get away with the murders and I don't know anyone of any race that disagrees with their convictions.
