Nasty Florence water

Has anyone else noticed how the tap water in Florence not only smells like pond water but also tastes bad too? I thought it was something with the pipes, but I have gotten drinks (sweet tea) from several restaraunts that also taste like dirt. I have only noticed it over the past several days. Is it all the rain we have had?
