I am not so sure upgrading a teaching degree is really going to make a difference in helping you get a job in Lauderdale County...not sure about other areas. Go to: http://www.lcschools.org/?PN=AboutUs
According to this website 61% of Teachers hold Advanced Degrees- Masters or Higher. You would not think so much education would be necessary to get considered for a teaching position. College level professor jobs do not seem to be any easier. Good luck, I hope you find a job soon.

I think it would be worth checking into teaching positions in Georgia. I have two relatives that both had to start out there. One is still there...I think since 1999.

One of the major problems leading to the shortage of funds for education is our current tax system. We seriously need to change it. If you are not familiar with it, just Google Alabama's regressive tax system. It is definitely worth spending some time to learn about it.
