Reply to "Phone Scammers calling more frequent?"

So far, I've not had the IRS call,,, yet...I like the Trap...

Usually we don't get too many Scammers. Recently, I had a guy with an India accent, ask to speak to the man of the house.. He was selling ****ra knockoff. You could even hear all the other people talking in the background chattering away. Like a Telemarketers SweatShop..... "Hello Man of the House, I have Deal Just for YOU.."

BRabbit...12/day!!!... You must be popular...Your number is making the circuit as potential customer/victim.

Last week had a guy & his son in a New looking Silver/Gray Ford 250 with all the Bells & Whistles and flashing light bar on top of cab. My dogs were going crazy guy was blowing his horn. I went out to see what all the commotion was about. The guy said, I was afraid to get out of the truck because of the dogs. I replied, Your a Smart Fellow. He explained that he was doing a job of chip sealing a road nearby and had too much material for that job and wanted to offer to me to chip & seal my 3/4 mile driveway for his cost of $1.68/foot to get rid of excess material.

To me Warning Lights were going off; Danger Will Roberson: How do you calculate a job materials cost that far off target.. Greater than 10-12%? Yet is enough to pave 3/4 to a mile driveway? Said he had 6 loads to much... Lets see, 6 loads x 16,000 lbs of gravel plus tar... Sorry not interested.... unless it was a big paving job.. he was doing for the county. Plus, Don't think Colbert County subcontracts chip & seal on county roads. At least when our road was chip & sealed, the county road department performed the work & materials. I wish I had paid more attention to the small Magnetic Sign & tag # on his truck & called the Sheriff to check him out.  May have been the "Old Pave Your Driveway Scam".
